Last night there was a tornado warning in my town and since my stupid third grade teacher made us read a book about tornados and twisters i was so scared so all m asking is .................can some one help me plz with my fear
Technically it would be Lilapsophobia. I'm pretty sure your more likely to be hit by lightning than be killed by a tornado and people are rarely scared of that happening. At the end of the day their just wind.
I don't known whether you are irrationally fearful or "just" scared. Are you really suffering from a phobia? Are you intensely, irrationally and persistently fearful of tornadoes that it hinders your daily activities?
Anyway, if you do have Lilapsophobia read this. I'm not expert and that's a pretty good source.
From me however, I'd suggest that you take rational precautions in case of a tornado. Wait, you live in Canada?
While it is normal and rational to check weather forecasts before outdoor activities, many people with lilapsophobia find that the weather controls their lives. You might spend a great deal of time watching the Weather Channel or tracking storms online. You may refuse to go out on days when storms are predicted.
That chances that a tornado will hit you are pretty low. Especially since you live in Canada.
Anyway, since you may have Lilapsophobia, I suggest you follow what is there in that page that I linked. I don't know much about what to do in case of phobias.
