It would be pretty cool. We would have a group of dedicated users be judges, and then nominate and select games for awards like best graphics, best sound, best gameplay, etc. Wouldn't that be cool?
But if its going to work then I need a good group of experienced users. If you're in, then tell me so I can get this going.
Most people who submit games on AG don't do it for the AP, so I doubt they would care that much about merits. I think the satisfaction of having your game that you spent day/weeks/months on receive a reward would be enough for them.
Game makers make games because they enjoy doing it, and submit them on various sites for money. Giving them a merit would be pointless, and people would only judge for a sense of power. The game makers would not know why they received a merit, or even care for that matter. They submit games on multiple sites for advertising,and to gain traffic on their own site. AP is nothing to them. This idea is more for the members who judge to feel special.

Yeah, yeah we moved on from why its bad and have moved forward to how to change it and make it better. Stick with the program buddy, stick with the program.
