AG really needs an edit function, so then you can avoid looking like an idiot (p=) without double posting (=D) and looking like a jerk.

I'd rather have a preview button, it would be annoying if people edited their posts during a debate.

Preview button would be nice, but then again, most would probably just press "ok" without even looking at their post.

Edit Function would be nice, but if you double check your posts, you usually shouldn't have a problem. It would also be nice if they did implement a edit function, that you would have to sacrifice AP to use it, as this would teach people to double check their posts before posting.

True, but it would be nice for those of us who actually want to make sure the bb code is right. I've been known for epically fail at quotes on long posts.

But would people actually sacrifice AP to edit the post when they can just post again with the corrections?

Only the people who actually care. Which is probably more than I think.

Besides, as long as there are no major mistakes and the post is still legible, there wouldn't be too much point. But I can see where it would come in handy if you, say, accidentally word something wrong or say something that is not true by accident.

Which brings up another point- What if people say something insulting or banhammer worthy, then go back to edit their post before a mod can see it?

Take that into account as well.

Well if they change it then there shouldn't be too big of a problem. Better than even more people seeing the offensive material.

My major problem with an edit button is during debates. It would get really damn annoying if people change their posts to make you look like an idiot.

Good point, but what if it's directed at a certain person and that person sees it? The damage is done.

'Course, that's my strong belief in justice speaking.

That... I really have no argument against that. :P

Maybe there could be a button that shows history of edits. That way people wouldn't be able to claim that they never edited the post, but people would still be able to fix typos and bb code type things.

If they make one they should make it so you can only edit it within 5 minutes of the post or something.
