What would you do if everyone but you suddenly died? They didn't turn into zombies but just dropped dead. Only humans die, animals are still alive. The main topics of this thread should be:

Would you be happy or sad?

How Would you Survive?(food, water, ect).

Personally, I would be happy. Everything in the WORLD is mine! Water in sinks would still work and electricity would still work(I think), so I would not have to go anywhere for water or entertainment. I would eventually run out of food and have to break in to peoples houses and take their food. I would steal some gaming consoles and take them home and play them. I have a gun so large animals should not be a problem. I would survive for quite a long time and be happy with tons of entertainment, but if I caught a series illness I would probably be screwed. As for lonliness and succumbing to madness, I have some pets that live for about 10 years, so I should be good for 10 years, then have to tame something, like a small animal.

Your thoughts?

You'd probably turn into a necrophilic with all the hot dead girls...plus I think you'd die from the fumes of the dead bodies decaying also >.<
gross

My social life is already nil so I wouldn't turn in a necrophilic...

And yeah I never thought about the fumes from the bodies. I would probably have to find a gas mask or find all the food and things I can before the bodies started decaying.

Well think about it...you are lonely...the only one on earth...there are tons of hot girls...who knows?

Animals still exist. And I am not THAT attracted to hot girls(but I'm not homosexual).

I highly doubt you'd be happy, being the only person in the world sounds cool when you're 13 but when you're older you'll look at it and realize it would seriously suck, like terribly. You definitely wouldn't be able to stay in one town, you'd have to move just to find more supplies; with everyone dead and you not knowing how to plant crops or things like that. And your theory of having entertainment is flawed, seeing as you couldn't play a single multi-player game and you'd be restricted to single player. And with supplies being limited, and the internet eventually ending for you you'd run out of things to play/watch/read. You'd kill yourself eventually, you would not be happy if you came at the subject objectively.

So my answer is I'd be unhappy. I'm very antisocial, sarcastic and known to be mean but my select circle of friends are important as is my family; I couldn't get through some stuff in my life without their support. And if you ask me to give a humorous answer I'd simply say "All game developers would be dead so The Old Republic/FFXIV/No More Heroes 2/other games I'm looking forward too won't come out." There's more to my answer but I gave it, and to answer the "what if" question. If everyone around me died and I was left alone chances are very good I'd blow my brains out.

So, cities of electronic stores/gorcery stores are going to run out with one person? I doubt it.

GamesArmor: You think that power/heat/internet would stay on with everyone dead? No one there to maintain it you'd loose that and then all your entertainment is down the drain and you're screwed (unless you REALLY like reading). You're 13 years old, if you don't think you have friends (which I doubt) go out and make some instead of thinking about what the world would be like if everyone dead.

Well that would pretty much suck, especially when all the bodies start to rot >.< I guess you would have all the resources you'd need though, and shelter. Since there isn't any destruction involved.

So I guess the main problem is I'd get lonely and depressed. Guess I'd just hang out with my cats, lol.

o.O Don't think so...that's just too creepy...

True true...

Indeed. Noone to mantain. Electricity and water would last for one year, at the most. A flaw in the plan.

I've often thought about a scenario similar to this...

But I've come to the conclusion that this would be a very horrible, lonely world. Studies show that people who are isolated from others for extended periods of time without anyone to interact with or talk to end up going crazy.

I think it would be extremely eerie, with all the dead bodies and such... everything would be relatively quiet.

But I know that eventually, water and electricity would stop running because there would be no one to manage water and electricity plants. So, the first thing I would do is gather as much water as I could to have reserves for when facilities stop working. The first things I would eat would be all perishable meats, cheeses and dairy products. Then, I would raid nearby houses for canned goods, medicine, and anything else that looks appealing. Then, I would go looking for a fuel efficient car either at a neighbors house, or I would go to a car lot.

After collecting water, food, and a fuel efficient car, I am free to go anywhere. I wouldn't go much outside my town, but first I would go to the library and find as many books as I can that will teach me basic survival skills (farming, building, how to fix a car, how to treat diseases, outdoor survival skills, how to sharpen knives, cookbooks, etc...) Then I would grab leisure books (nothing scary, this could cause paranoia). But in situations like this, arming yourself with knowledge is one of the most important things you can do.

Then I would go to pharmacies, and grab any medicine I can. Then I would go and get exercise equipment (it is very important to keep yourself in shape in situations like these because then you can do whatever tasks you need to without much physical limitation). Then I would go to supermarkets and stock up on more canned goods. Also, when I need gas for my car, I would simply siphon it from other cars.

Then After gathering all the things I need, I would live on a day to day basis, taking each challenge as it comes, and I would always try to do something productive. Sloth is your enemy in this situation.

My day to day activities would include
- Eating
- Chopping wood for cooking and warmth
- Looting homes around me
- Building various things for entertainment
- Reading and learning
- Sleeping
- Exploring
- Anything productive
- Relaxing

Thats my plan!
