So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)

This may have already been solved, but I disagree with the defense structures, to a point. I feel that that would change this great game to a Tower Defense game. They would have to be fairly weak.
This would not turn into a tower defence game. Most likely you are going to have 1 defence structure to defend for your base instead of building units to counter it. It saves time and resources. That is the point of them. Because along with a defence structure and the central base, it's going to be quite a formidable defence.
Sorry for double. Also remember that you have a a limited choice of self defence structures to choose from. If your opponent goes forge you'll probably get the anti air turret if your fascist. The rest of governemnts only have 1 defence structure which doesn't change this game into a TD game. Also remember that you can sell these defence structures for 50% of the cost (including upgrades(except for bunker which can be sold but will not gain money)). You will probably won't need them late game or you may only need them temporarily, so you would sell them most likely and put an extra deployment structure or another resource structure. Remember that i'm the one that gave this suggestion so i should probably know how it would affect the game (I'm not trying to sound rude and obnoxious but what I'm saying is true).
Med scramble is...what can I say? Amazing? 10 meds can keep a hover or glad alive for a very long time. The modded sakata still needs a longer range though, and it still has low life, although with quicker replying, but instant killed by missles.
Oh, I love them, but they don't fit into my normal build (no sloar grid) so I just don't get to use them, same goes for special ops squad, they might be better than normal units but I would need a special ops for them.
