So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
Tourneys fail for the lack of community tools built into Colony, (and that is hard to sink up other peoples schedules)
I'll go ahead and answer my question: was Colony ground breaking, will it be remembered for what it did a few years from now (heck, it may still be being played) like Exmortis (2004) did for flash horror games?
Doubtful, I think it may be remembered for how hard people tried to work for it, for a flash game that is, I haven't seen any other with such a community. It may also be remembered for how hard to handle hackers are :\\
I beleive that Colony will be reborn. I did not mean that I was the only one that help Colony survive. The players you said help and you did too. I also contributed to the matter. I am kinda mad that all the noobs the play fair hear how good I was and when they see me now they want to play me in 1v1, well I suck now, please spread the word. I will still play Colony but not as much thanks too the cheater population at 70%ish.
Today I remembered why I played Colony for so long. It was like magic cuz when I rembered I got my skills back. I am back and now that my skills have returned I will add to the colony website once I recover the loggin password. -.-' The process took a few dayts last time I had to do it so It will be a while.
COLONY REPORT #1 - YOS I am doing this new thing for the people that do not play Colony, hardly go online these days, or for those who want to know what my thoughts are on Colony.
First on the list is the new glitch that I have noticed, which causes the range of the units to change. I still have yet to find the source of this strange phenomenon, but I assure you I will find the underlying cause of it.
Second on the list is the new power JACKlEMOON has somehow acquired, which gives him the special privilege of bypassing the spam-blocker. I wish I knew what allows him to do this so I could tell Krin about it, but for now, it is just a problem that we all need to deal with. JACKlEMOON seems to get more and more annoying by the second.
Third on the list that does end the Beatrix server is still down as it has been sense the thirtieth day of November. I wonder if it has to do with the new server that is coming out hopefully.
Forth is the new code , which allows one to bypass the censor program by typing a part of the word before and after the code.
Fifth is the old spam code
is being use, which ,if copied and pasted lots of times, lets one clear the chat room log. This gets very annoying when trying to have a conversation.
Last the number of hacked accounts is still rising. I wonder why people cut corners to get something.
Well that is all for now. Come back to look for the next COLONY REPORT.
... YOS. I now you mean well and all but... You are frustrating. While in game the, code can be used to make a square.
hacked accounts is still rising.
You do mean the hacker/exploiter accounts right? Well most of those are usually hackers switching inbetween accounts as a hope of not getting caught. They still do get caught though. And if you mean the account who get exposed, it's usually because they either: 1. Gave out their passwords, or 2. They share a computer and the ones who they share the computer with gave out the passwords.
I have a problem with Colony, it stops loading at a seemingly random point, and even if it does load, usually at the fifth or sixth attempt, it renders the graphics and then comes up with none of the buttons marked 'Campaign', 'Multiplayer', 'Tutorial', or 'Quick Play'. Anyone else have this trouble?
I believe the main reason hackers are on the rise because of wikihax.com -and the fact that people keep mentioning them in chat
A new Colony game would make it easier to update and kick hackers out (for awhile) -as long as each new version wasn't backwards compatible in fact even doing that would make it better -Less hackers, availability of bigger updates, etc
