So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
How do you beat mission5 is what i would like to know. Do you go with the hard to operate and soon overwhelmed missile base strategy? or forgo that and stick with outpost and other stuff?
Bank, then spec ops as soon as you have enough resources. Set it onto gather influence.
Wait for them to send their large air/ground assault at you. You should have just eneough for one cash missile, and one energy missile. First send one at the air units, and try to take out as many as you can (wait for the main group to catch up, don't just hit one scout). When they die or the land group catches up, missile them. You will be taking damage because you'll have to wait for them to be aligned well.
Soon, you shoul dhave enough for a pride. Deploy it. If you micro it, it can kll a chronite tank before it can shoot. Add a generator, and work up to a missile build (2 treasuries 1 solar grid), and add prides. Sakata MKII are annoying, so use a farsniper. Get a spec ops team for hte heals. When a large phantom force comes and tries to overwhelm you, just missile it.
It's always worked for me, and is rather easy now with the influence units. Finish them off when you have around 400/400 resources. If you want to go outpost--
Well, it starts with bank, and you'll end up with 2 outposts, 2 armories, or something like that. One pumps tanks, the other marines.
Generally in that lvl I just build a treasury, 2 armories on manpower, anda barracks, and basically just spam groditz till I win heh. I would make groups of around 10 or so and send them in.
