So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)

TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)

It's truer words have never been spoken.

In other news I might be able to play Colony after work which would be about 9.75 hours after this post.

The night concludes with many epic games. I can't believe how fun it is playing this again. I think it was because the EQ games I played, somehow I made my own EQ style on the fly as Communist. It was so cool killing prides and crap with post + hos only, and then concluding the games with my Grodtiz vs Hovers. Why did people stop playing?

You don't understand; it was so cool. I still have my innate ability to do the unexpected, which still leads victory.

We have to join forces some day on the battlefield, then you will see. I can't recall the last time you saw me play.

Look, YOS, I'll be frank. If you still can't see exactly why I find you so amusing, then that's really sad.

I would agree that it's been a long time since I last saw you play. You were pretty bad the last time I saw you.

I'm pretty bad now, but I can still somehow manage to 1v2 the really bad players. Rusty, that may be, the strategic mind can do wonders, and in conjunction with the skill I possess, my rust seems to be a dull blade.

Oh! I am going to be online for a while.

This is the introduction to my Colony Multiplayer Guide. How is it? Feedback would be great.

Dear Unfortunate Soul,

Ever since the United Space Coalition (USC) was joined by the other powers of the Earth, the USC have been sending people to retake Minerva, mankind's first intergalactic colony. You are one of the people they are sending to fight, but you my friend are a one of the lucky recruits. You are going to be leading one of the USC's armies to victory on Minerva. That is your mission. I will give you a heads up though; your mission is obsolete, and you will not stay a member as a member of Earth. Instead you will find out what happened on what will be your new home, and you view on humanity will change.

You are probably wondering who am I and how I know so much about your situation. I can only tell you the latter, for now. I am an inhabitant of Minerva, and that is all you need to know. My job is to help you survive on Minerva. Well, not really, I am just going to give you information how to survive on Minerva. Why, because I feel you have the potential to change life on my planet. Yeah, I do send this message to all of the assigned leaders. Hence: "Dear Unfortunate Soul," above. This is a generic message, which only the surviving leaders have read and taken to heart. What do I send the lower ranking recruits? Okay, I will tell you: "Dear Death Sentenced Mate, Your life is not you own anymore. You life is in the hands of your leader, and if you are lucky, you will last a few weeks after you reach your destination. May the Afterlife Treat You Well, P" I know it is not really a welcoming message, but it is the truth. Oh! My name isn't P; P is the alias of the guy who started this war; that is all you need to know about him for now.

Before I go any further, I need to tell you how and what you will be fighting. If you decide to stop fighting for the USC, you will often meet or have an ally for most of the standard battles you will be fighting. On Minerva, people change sides every day, and sometimes every hour, so your ally in one battle might turn on you and fight you. You can't trust anyone after you land, not even me; unless they are fighting with you. There are many well known names on Minerva. Some of the people you will meet are very scary, and should be avoided at all cost. It will be hard to avoid said people because it is easy to use an alias, but hopefully you have a good ally when you meet one of these leaders.

That is all I can send to you for now.

I am waiting for you,

P (I will give you my alias when you land in 6 days)

PS: Days are longer on Minerva, so I will try to send messages to you on a thirty hour cycle.

To be honest the viewpoint used is a bit awkward to me, not to mention the guide is in old-fashined double space form. But it seems fine.

It is really quite easy to 1v2 noobs and win.

I am attempting to bring some players back with this guide; I wanted to build on the Colony story and make the Multiplayer seem like it happens long after the last mission. It makes sense, but I do think I might have overdid the story portion. The main reason for the approach I took is that I am giving readers a scope of the guide and why they should read it.

Well the main thing is that you say it's an introduction to the guide, but really it's just a story.

You must not know me well. I like to do the impossible. I don't think there is a guide out there that is in a story format. Remember, I am the guy the won a game after 90 minutes because I created the roman spam/wall.

I will admit, I am afraid of the task I have started because how ambitious it is, and how there are really no examples I can go to for guidance. The only thing I have is the game this time, so I won't be able to go on and on about statistics. The trick is what am I going to do next? Believe it or not, that first part was actually a 1st daft with no planning, which came to be from a spontaneous thought.

Apropos to this discussion, I realize what I have so far may be odd and might not sound right, but it is only part of something much bigger.
