Forums → Art, Music, and Writing → Haiku Contest - Broken Bond (page 531, due: Feb 2)
A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
Well, that said, heres the rules:
1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)
Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...
The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Mountains are deadly
When you fall, you always die
I'm falling! Someone--
Standing tall and proud,
Reaching the heavens' zenith,
Earth and sky collide
Trenches are mountains
Growing downward inside-out.
(Time for the "Shift" key!)
I tower above
No one to share the sorrow
But the dancing sky
in the mountains of peru
where dead bodies rot
Mountain or crevasse?
an inverted perspective
uh oh. looks like thisisnotanalt and i have the same theme. please disregard mine as I wish to make another one. thanks!
Yielee, Alt should change his.... you did it first.
Sorry, didn't notice yours. Ah well, you don't have to change it - the same general theme between two is okay, as long as it isn't plagiarism on the part of either of the people. So it's okay. But, if you want to change yours because you thought of a better idea or something, no-one's stopping you.
As the strong wind breathes
Cutting through the heavy rocks
Mountains in deep sleep
Guess it isn't really that good..
Mountains in the night
The silence is unbroken
Gentle Breezes Stir
Awakening The Wildlife
The Valley Echoes.
Wow, GuitarHero, I thought I was going to lose when I saw your entry. Then I remembered that you can't get first place twice in a row. But if you could, that would do it for you!
So many great entries this round. And they're almost all alike to me! xD
Quiet mountain lake
A hungry trout soon breaches
Startling the poor bear.
