A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

The fly is making noise and by the frog eating it the noise is killed off.

It never stated in the haiku that the fly was making noise...the main point of the haiku also was about how the frog wasn't a frog, BUT if it was a frog then the fly would be gone. Nothing about noise

It's not up to your final discretion whether it is accepted or not.

The fact that noise isn't mentioned. Its also not about clowns, chickens, or cannabilism. So whats your point? As Nicho said, it's the judges duty to determine what the poem is about, and then if it should be considered or discarded.

Yes, yes I am. I should be able to get it done before October. Final submissions for this round must be in before midnight. Acmed can post the next rounds theme any time after that.

Well when that happens we'd have to well you know compare and contrast views.

That's a problem in itself. Who would be the winner? It's a contest, not a critique session.

But you know how it goes most of the time, so let's hope that doesn't happen.

your twisted throat brings
nothing but pain fear anger
still, you say nothing.

Thought that a lack of punctuation would intensify this more. Don't think I'm illiterate.

I've been watching this contest for a while and I've noticed it's very unorganised..

I'm not saying I could make it any better, but if you wanted a judge, I'm not too busy these days and I'm sure I could judge it on time.
I mean, I swear the deadline was a good 3 days ago. I can understand why there are so few submissions when judging takes forever.
