A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

The cover of that album is a little creepy... Spiders with butterfly wings... I'll let someone else get the cookie this time, can't be hogging them all.

Will you do the judging early again if people don't enter any new haikus for an amount of time?

I am no poet that paint with a tune
Rhyming the letters, reading the rune
I'm rather an artist, another concept
painting with colours, emotions un-wept.

So as you can see this is not really my style
Living in poetic and rhyming exile
When we are to actu'ly paint with the words
I'm a storyteller, adventurer's shepherd.

That made me think of Vincent Van Gogh, was that on purpose?

Who's Van Gogh?

Only kidding...

It would be quite the coincidence. The ear is a very odd thing to cut off. Though he just cut off the lobe if I remember correctly. So I'm a little but more hardcore than him. Or, at least I'm more hardcore in my haikus, not so much in real life. I've never actually cut off a body part and mailed it to someone. I'm kind of boring like that.

So yeah... the reference was on purpose.

You've never cut a part of your body off? I do it every few weeks... Y'see there is this REALLY hot nurse at the hospital and I get a chance to talk to her while she is reattaching various parts of my anatomy.

Remind me never to go the the U.K. for medical treatment, letting a nurse perform surgery... Bah.

Pfft, I'm lucky - most people get operated on by the dude who sweeps the floors. NHS cutbacks really force hospitals to improvise.
