A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
Well, that said, heres the rules:
1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)! 2) It must fit the weeks theme 3) It must be submitted before the deadline 4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written) 5) One Submission per user 6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)
Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...
The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond
Murasaki tends to enjoy a bit of spirituality in poetry, so yours could do well. However "Heal me from thy wounds" Thy means your, meaning God injured the writer. I'm not sure if you intended to say that, but for one to ask/beg forgiveness against His judgement is to question His authority.
Hey Hahiha, you're format is 5-6-5 it must be 5-7-5.
Smaugs desolation, It is free from fire's bane; The Dread Worm is dead.
you're Haiku does not even talk about the topic Retoration
Urgh.
1) Fire can be counted as 1 or 2 syllables. 2) It IS about Restoration. Have you read the book? 3) It isn't COPIED from the book, but based on the book.
IMPORTANT UPDATE THINGY!!! nichodemus and pangtongshu are the only participants who have expressed interest in judging the contest. Since nicho will be starting army service soon, the next round is his (maybe the round after that, too), and we'll see from there. pang will likely be a regular on the lineup. So nicho, when murasaki9 posts this round's results, give the new theme and due date, and have a mod change the title.
