A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Splashing small droplets like rain,
Creating a rainbow.

Ok, the judging is in!

I'm going to give everyone medals!

9th place Is a tie!

SilentQ!

Rock spraying water,
Splashing small droplets like rain,
Creating a rainbow.

D'OH! Last line is 6 sylables. But very nice description.

chaozmachine!

The woods run bountiful
The water is crisp and clear
Lair of the angels

D'OH! First line is 6 sylables. Yes, that is how I think of a ountain spring. Crisp and clear.
8th place:

7th place is off to:

Owen153751!

I swam in the spring,
I glanced ahead; Waterfall.
Death from jagged rocks.

Pristine = peace. Jagged rocks = not peace.

6th place goes too:

howlett!

Looking from mountains
Cold water hitting my face
Making me cool down

I just don't really like the last line. But yes, from experiance, it is very cold.

Wood (5th place):

marioman327!

Ataraxia
Liquid crystals shroud my woes
Drenching me in peace

I don't know what the first word means... but overall, ok haiku.

Bronze (4th place):

TSL!

Cold and running clear
It seeps through the mountain air
Only to be drank.

Seeps through mountain air? Is that one of your codes? Queers these days. Good Haiku. Just there are better.

Silver (3rd place):

hypoxia!

Of the purest blue
Glacial Water - cool to touch
Unfathomable

It's not always blue, ya know. Nice last line.

Gold (2nd place):

Jaza!

Sunlight on water
Steam rises from the bottom
Where spotted trout hide

The reason I put this here is because there are fish people! FISHYS!

WINNER:

BRONZE!

The mountain heaves forth
a cleansing stream of water
Life for you, renewed

Love that last line.

Pick a theme, Bronze, any theme.

HAPPY HAIKUING!

I'm starting to think I'm getting good at Haikus, thanks dudeguy.

The new theme is fitting I think, The First Snow

Or in other words, the first snowfall of the winter.

Hope it is a good theme! I'll put my haiku up later.
