The Sumter County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Jaren Ashley Hare and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Charles Jason Darnell, were each charged with manslaughter, third-degree murder and child abuse.

My God people, why are you complaining about their age? I mean, I agree that the age might have been a factor, nineteen you probably don't know how to take care of a baby(and with a thirty year old? That's sick), but come on! A two year old child is dead. Dead! And you're all complaining about the age of the parents?? What sort of talk are you hoping to generate with this thing, btw?

Depends of where she lives, in most places 17 or 18 is the age of consent.

I'm sure most nineteen year olds could take care of a child. Even if she couldn't the father was in his thirties and should be well capable of taking care of a child.

How can you be charged with both for one crime? It was either manslaughter or murder, not both (Again I didn't read it so if it was two separate crimes sorry, but from what I see it was both from the death of their 2 year old kid)
Owning a python is ridiculous. From what I've read they were charged correctly.
It's not like you're killing the child anymore by not talking about it so why not talk about something else than a little girl being choked to dead by a 'giant' snake? Anyway yes it's sad, I don't really like children, so sorry if I'm not crying over it =/.
Erm, the age difference isn't uncommon, nor the age of childbirth. Happens all the time! From all the pregnant girls I've seen so far, she actually had hers quite late =P.
