It seems as if Hip Ho[ music is just turning into techno. Now it kind of makes sense because Techno and Hip Hop both have some origins in Disco music. Listen to Funky Town (by Lipps Inc.) it sounds like a predecessor of Techno, there's synth in it and the vocals in some parts have some sort of vocoder effect on them. Listen to Rappers Delight (by The Sugarhill Gang) you can hear the rapping but you also can hear the Disco as well.
Hip Hop songs these days though are just sounding more and more like techno; Fire Burning - Sean Kingston, Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolf & Lil' Wayne, I Know You Want Me - Pitbull, Kiss Me Thru the Phone (feat. Sammie) - Soulja Boy, Blame it -Jamie Foxx. Take out the vocals to those parts and you have got techno.

I don't listen to hip hop but sometimes on the radio in the car the channel is a hip hop channel(mom likes some of that stuff) and you are slightly correct. Yes the beats are better than just claps and a kick but techno has a faster BPM and is better to dance to rather than just raising your hands or something else that can relate to hip hop dances. I'm not flaming hip hop saying it is bad or something but if hip hop does normally adopt a techno beat then....well I don't know I love techno and I don't want to hear Soulja Boy RAPPING over an awesome beat because then techno will be like......I don't know just not techno. Techno doesn't have lots of vocals because it has base and synths and just sounds awesome but with a rapper rapping over the beat will make techno not techno....am I clear? If not sorry but yeah that's my opinion on your statement and I think you make a great argument too.....

Yeah I get what you're saying, like as soon as you rap over at techno beat it looses the techno feel and becomes rap.

I love rap.

My favorite rap song is now Go Hard by DJ Khaled and Kanye West.

Such a good song.

Yeah....pretty much but most of the time when people listen to rap....I don't see how they can dance to it either(considering I like to dance)! Most of the time it is hands up while techno you have(drifting off here) things like electro, hardstyle, and happy hardcore, and techno(which are all under ELECTRONICA) which you can dance to while rap(IMO HERE) seems like music you can just listen.

Hmmm, I guess it depends on your dancing style too though. I couldn't really see people doing ballroom dancing to Jay-z or Basshunter.

I don't hate rap. I just like the older stuff better. Wu-Tang, Dr. Dre, Tu Pac. I'm just saying that it seems like more and more rap artists are loosing the lyrical flow and going for a more repetitive sound and the music itself has more and more techno synths in it. The older rap tends to have lyrics that tell a story have more meaning and make more sense, when you have lyrics like "A milli, A milli, a milli" and "Go Dj thats my Dj" and "And we so bout it bout it Now what are you about?" It's all about the club and stuff, unless you listen to more underground rap (there are still a few artists that put time into their lyrics though).
