Well, I think this suggestion is pretty obvious from the title.

Wouldn't it be nice(r) if links we clicked on opened in a new tab or window? Then when we click on a link in a post while typing a post, we wouldn't lose our &quotrogress" while posting.

I think it's just a little tweak that would be nice. I don't think it would be that hard to change?

I've seen it done on other sites and it is annoying when I loose apost I've spent ages writing due to my own incompetence lol. But I think it would be easier to just be more careful when you open up new windows etc. I got into the habit long ago of oening link in a new window rather than just opening it... now I can't stop lol.

That's pretty much what I do now lol, but I have to right click then click open in new tab, which is much more difficult then just left-clicking :P

It's not really necessary, just a little tweak that could be cool!

Get something that allows you to middle click (mouse with clickable scroll wheel) and set that to open in new tab. Problem solved.

I personally HATE when forums insist on opening links I click in other tabs. If I wanna open something in a new tab, I Cmd+click it. If it opens in a new tab pr. default, I have to go back to close the tab I was already done with. Annoying. Especially when working with a lot of tabs.

Can I ask what cmd is? I have a add-on for Mozilla lets me open EVERYTHING in a new tab.

There are loads of ways you can do this... But why should AG have to adapt? It would be annoying if you had to delete a tab each time, when you were surfing the forums... It would be annoying. So you do it yourself, with:

Control (ctrl) or Command (Cmd) + click (Snowflake for Macs, like me)

OR

Control (ctrl) or Command (Cmd) + N to create a new window

You will manage just fine.

Command. It's a key on Mac keyboards. Works kinda like Ctrl in some cases, like Cmd+c = copy, Cmd+v = paste, Cmd+w = close tab, Cmd+q = quit, Cmd+t = new tab, Cmd+n = new. And so on.

If you have a logitech mouse you can easily assign the middle button to open the window in a new tab. Just open up the "Set Point" settings, click the one that highlights the wheel, and choose "middle button".

<< FireFox
I just right click on links I want to open elsewhere an strike 'T'...it opens up the link in a new tab. I don't know about IE, since I don't use it unless I have the IE Tab open on FireFox, which then I just have to hit 'W' instead...

I'm using Opera... can't install Firefox on my dad's computer

I'm using a laptop

Control (ctrl) or Command (Cmd) + N to create a new window

That creates a new blank window... not opens the link in a new window...

Oh well... I guess it wasn't that great of an idea, I'll have to live with it :P
