I've actually seen this a lot from people here on the forums and I've been constantly wondering, why are they sellouts? I never really asked so sorry for my lack of knowledge.
I don't think they are sellouts, but then again, my opinion :P
I think they are a little bit. Not because I don't like Death Magnetic; I thought DM was good. But because when they started they said they weren't going to be stereotypical, you know, be cool and whatnot. But then they turned around when their bassist died, you know, suing Napster. So I think they are sellouts, just not the way most people see. And yeah, I tried to de-spamify my comment.
Would you not have done the same? If you were losing literally millions of potential profit would you not do the same?
I'm not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing, I'm saying that when they started they said they wouldn't do things like that, and that's part of their "thing". That makes them sellouts, because when the bassist died they started doing what they said they wouldn't.
i dont think they are sellouts but i dont really like death magnetic first song i heard i couldnt even tell it was metallica till the corus but them being sellouts i dissagree and napster had it coming.
