The ending was horrible, it was an alright movie and concept, but really, that was the worst ending ever. At that point, it made me wonder if they couldn't think of anything else so they just cut it off with a bomb so they wouldn't have to think about it anymore.
The Blair Witch Style first person camera made me dizzy and was quite irritating.
I don't think Blair Witch style camera work worked in Blair Witch and I don't think it worked in Cloverfield. Though I would like to throw Twilight into the ring for worst movie ever.
I appreciated it for what it was. I thought that it really thrust you into the position of the characters seeing it from that first person point of view. I also felt the ending fit well for the movie since it kind of leads us to believe that that really isn't the end. What we're watching is the recovered tape from the blast and at the end you can hear someone saying that "it's still alive." I think thy're planning on making a sequel which would be worth it.
I don't think you all have a good knowledge of cinema if you really think this is the worst film ever. I mean, You can take Twilight, High School Musical, both Transformers, Alien VS Predator 1 and 2, etc., they're far from Cloverfield...
Cloverfield is just amazing. Ok, the end isn't really that great, but all the movie is just so entertaining, so hard, so speed, the camera style is just perfect for that kind of movie, etc...
