I couldn't beat the last boss, and game doesn't autosave progress. But I guess nothing special happens when you beat the game.

I easily beat the last boss. Just fire a grenade with the grenade launcher when his eye is not red. There is no real story, besides the fact that something went wrong in a labratory.
lol why do scientists in games and movies always screw up and make zombies and omg they shoot you?? what happened to tradition??
