Butterfree evolves from metapod which comes from caterpie so you fail at unevolved list Ernie.

i agree with graham all the new pokemon dont take any imagination at all there just old pokemon but worse looking

Well I've gotta say, only the ORIGINAL pokemon are any good. And they shall always have a special place in my heart

But naming just 5 is impossible!

wat happened to dragon pokemon there are hardly no new dragon pokes any more.

Every one of the first 151 Pokemon are memorable for me, choosing just 5 will be hard but I'll do my best:
1.) Charizard (My favorite, and the only Pokemon I've ever liked enough to do a Single Pokemon Playthrough)
2.) Mewtwo (Because everyone remembers the last catchable Pokemon that was new, and they made movies about him for gods sake)
3.) Pikachu (Because he's {Pikachu and EVERYONE knows him)
4.) Poliwhirl (Probably my favorite water Pokemon that wasn't a starter (I always take the fire starter anyway))
5.) Jigglypuff (I never really liked the ball of fluff but it's more memorable now because of Smash Brothers)
