Hey, just came across this, and thought it was interesting.

Rockstar Games is allowing people to download Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2, and another game, Wild Metal for free.

All you have to do is sign up for their mailing list, and you can download the games! And it's legal! (unlike torrents, :P )

Hmmm... can you say "sell my email adress to every person with 5 dollars." ?

Torrents are legal. Using them to download things is illegal.

So, it may be legal to use the website, but the downloads may not be.

Yeah.

But it may be different with this website you found. Can you tell me the adress?

Just create a new Gmail or Hotmail account for this, and ditch it. Problem solved

Here is the link.

GamesArmor is right, sorta. Just like Limewire is completely legal, downloading stuff with it is illegal. They even make you promise you won't use Limewire during the Limewire setup.

The privacy policy looks clean.

The submit your ______ stuff looks clean too. But why would they need your street adress?

Sorry. I've just been paying attention to thse types of things after I looked at some bit torrents privacy policies and found out downloading PERIOD is illegal. Ripoff.

I wouldn't download it anyway. I've never been a GTA fan. All you really do after the missions is steal cars and see how many stars you can get(hey that kinda ryhmed).

Oh yeah, I forgot. I'm not going to look at the terms and conditions thing you get when you download it. I feel unmotivated.

They even make you promise you won't use Limewire during the Limewire setup.

Stupid. I hate it... They shouldn't allow companies to even allow people to download stuff they aren't supposed to use. They probably know that it is stupid, and they only reason it is allowed is because of connections between people.

And honestly, they know anyone getting Limewire going to use it, so why put up the little "Do You Pwomise?" screen? Anyone whos ever set up anything on a computer is hardwired to click "Yes", "Allow" and "OK" wherever they show up.

Agreed. Everyone's obviously going to click Yes if they have already downloaded it and are installing it.

It's just so they can stay out of legal trouble, and not get sued. That's why they also have an option to hide copyrighted files.

Just read something... to do with the copyright thing.

Remember: no masking of your address is 100% foolproof. And if you download/upload P2P files, remember that in any other country outside of Canada, downloading copyrighted movies and songs puts you at legal risk for copyright infringement prosecution.

Hahahah, that's awesome! Canada ftw, lol. Link.

Apparently... but it's still good to use an anonymizer program like PeerGuardian. Not too sure if this is true or not. If it is, then awesome

lol who's gonna play gta 1 or 2?

Uh... why not when you can get it for free? Lol...
