My cousin was talking about this. Let's say you don't try in school but do not let it show. Sometimes you do try. People congradulate you for doing something you could have easily done if you tried. While on the other hand, people that work the hardest, that quality of work becomes expected of them, like a low quality of work is expected from the person who does not try. He or she may slip up every once in a while and may dissapoint his/her parents. Disregarding the fact that people that work harder go to a better colledge(since if it was not school and some other activity it may not matter), would you say that people that work harder get the lower end of the deal?

Don't flame me, I just heard my cousin talk about this.

Agreed. For example.

We have to do a run at the start of P.E. class. We get marked on our "effort" which is essentially our time.

Now if someone is getting 14 minutes, then gets 12 minutes the whole week, they get 10/10.

But, for example me... if my top time is 8:50, and I get 9:30's all week, I might only get 9/10.

But overall I agree with you in some aspects, this is not true for everything though! (thank God)
