For all you fanatics out there, can God create a rock so big even he can not lift it?

The Bible answers that question (If you want to look at it from a religious point of view) and the answer is yes. Dont ask me how, though, im just a messanger.

I don't believe in god, also rocks can be formed by the sea so you should ask can the sea form a rock it can't carry.

1. Fanatics? Talking about Christians? Oh, sorry I can't talk anymore I need to go find a barn and sacrifice a few babies. /sarcasm
2. Christians, don't answer this. This is an ignorant question meaning to trap us.

Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words.
Matthew 22: 15
Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

No. He can create an infinintely big rock, with an infininte amount of strength(if he even exists). This is kind of like the question "Unstoppable object colides with immovable force".

This is a philosophical question that should assume God is omnipotent, therefore he is able to do anything.

And thus, two statements come in mind.

1. God is so powerful that he can create huge rock no one can hold.
2. God is so powerful that he can hold anything.

Its a paradox

If he does exist, he probably has the power to do that. Isn't he supposed to be able to do anything?

And I thought this would be a music thread, saying that the title is "God vs. Rock". xD

Depends on the specific religion, and sect, each one sees God and his actions differently.

I don't personally believe in God, but I think that this thread is down rights pointless. If he couldn't lift it, why make it?

What he means by this is:
God can do anything
If He can do anything, He can make a rock so big He can't lift it.
If He can't lift the rock, then He can't do anything.

It's obviously a paradox, and unanswerable. You are waiting for someone to say yes or no, and then jump on it trying to prove their faith invalid. This has been done before.

@Valk

Maybe it serves a purpose past him being able to lift it. Although, I think Dudeguy needs to post again with more thought. Calling religious people fans? I'm agnostic, but that's a bit rude.

It shows that it is impossible for God to be omnipotent, as the bible says.
