Metallica hands down.

metallica of the great years are invicible. but now i think slipknot are better.
i also think that are gruops too different to do specific a comparation

Don't put titles (or anything for that matter) in ALL CAPS. It hurts the eyes, and YELLING isn't suitable for forums.

Metallica all the way. They always rocked, and all their songs and albums do to. Some aren't so great, but they still rock.

Metallica without hesitation. Slipknot sucks. It's not really music. It kills my ears.

An awesome band who recently got inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. Kirk Hammett is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I love his solos and his outstanding riffs. James Hetfield has to be one of the best frontmen ever and Lars Ulrich has a powerful drumming style that just pushes right past Slipknot.

how come no one is giving reasons why one of the bands is better?

im going to have to say that metallica is better in my view although i still love slipknot its just that im not into the really "screamo" type music

errrrr tough choice for me slipknot's newest cd is awesome metallica's new CD wasn't as good as their older ones but i think im gonna have to go with slipknot because they tend to have heavier riffs and i personally like metal more then any other genre

They both have really nice songs and I think its a 50/50!
