I was thinking maybe that there could be some sort of prize for being the most helpful user, not getting banned, not spamming, etc. for a certain time period(the user would be chosen by a mod). I was thinking for people who actually want to be a helpful part of the site, it might be more encouraging if you got a prize. I'm not saying I'd run it, just tossing the idea out there. So maybe the mods and admins will consider this.

True...

But I think that they don't have to make this person a mod... since AG might not necessarily need mods at this time (I'm not in a position to comment on this).

Even though I wasn't clear I think I covered that.

Also it makes no sense at all. The most helpful user is the most helpful among the users. So doesn't make sense why the mods would vote. Why did I just say that? I can think of a million reasons....

If this most helpful user person just wants to help, doesn't mean he or she doesn't want fame to go with it.

not getting banned

I take that as I lose?

It would be nice, but some flaws are kinda clear. Many people would get mad at the mod who gave the prize for giving it to someone else, who that person might not feel deserved it. Then a mass flame war erupts, with someone throwing one word at me most likely and getting me banned permanently because I fed the stupid trolls.

It'll happen -.-

That, and people could try to sabotage others and make themselves look better when they bring in evidence of the 'victims' crime...though I srsly doubt people would go to this extent for a simple award, right?

i dunno about this one... i think it has its strengths (people being helpful, people being nice etc...), and some flaws (the inevitable fighting, everyone wants something if they win ie:PRIZES, or MODERATORSHIP). i think we should just forget about it. it would take a lot more thaught to make everyone happy.

leaders" of the community

I like the sound of that!It is true, many people aren't the stuff for mods, but are still good forumers.
The most helpful person will probably qualifies for moderatorship

Not necessarily: Some people may not be very good at answering questions of other users (Which is a vital role of the mods) but is good at arguing and debating over topics.

I like the idea, as it gives people something to strive for when foruming. It would get a lot of users to forum more or start it, and might make people write better posts.
