I think that its just how mature the child is from realizing whats fiction and reality. So it doesn't really matter about age just how mature you are. I mean I'm like 12 and I play Ninja Gaiden in front of my parents while I'm slashing off somethings arm or when the room is covered in blood and they dont care.
i think it really depends on the maturity of the kid. If they can handle it and be mature about it, then I think they should be able to play, but if they play it and then think it's cool to go out and kill people, they're not ready.
May I ask how you know that? Do you know every 11 year old in the world?
I have been playing M rated games my whole life, never had a problem with them. It all depends on the person, age limits are really ineffective because they don't accurately tell how mature someone is.
I think its really a matter of what should or should not be considered M rated to tell you the truth. Teenagers play violent gory games all the time. The only time most parents seem to care(based purely on observation) is when sexual content of some kind is included. Thats the type of stuff that people on Fox news turn into the Mass Effect "SeXbox 360" story, not to mention the San Andreas Hot Coffee thing. They tend to just go on an average of what they think the appropriate age is for people to be mature enough for such content. I think the current system is a little innaccurate since all you need is a little bit of blood and some violence.(I'm not joking about this) The worst part is there are also Teen games with the content(blood and violence) but still are teen games. Its probably because of lower graphics(the one I'm mainly referring to is on the Wii) but still I find it a bit odd how they decide the rating for some of these games. As for me I'm 17 now and can buy these games myself, so it doesn't effect me if they lowered it, but making it higher would not serve any real purpose. The system seems fine to me though, except way too many immature people are not being filtered out....its a problem.
There should be a new rating system. It is a bit retarded that many rated M games are all fine. Whats so bad about Call of Duty? On the other hand, some games with the same rating, like GTA, are too graphic. I do not believe hat the age is incorrect, I believe that the rating is incorrect.
i think you should at least be 13 but if your parents dont want you to play the game then you cant
Thats basically the system we have now, except to 1 year olds instead...in other words parents can buy a game for their kid regardless of his/her age....unless your shopping at Best Buy maybe...
It matters what the parent thinks, like one of the naruto games my mom let me play it even though it was rated M because she knew it wasn't nasty or something like that.
Well it depends on the type of game for me like GTA if i had a kid i wouldnt let him/her play it till about 14 MAYBE 13 depending on maturity but like games like COD really arent that bad i believe but it really all just depends on the child's maturity my parents allowed me to start playing them between 12-13 cant remember exactly and started to let me play GTA about 14
