I need a site that has large amounts of info on people. Like Ancestry.com just i want a free site if at all possible.

Anyone know one??? BTW why do we have to pay to look at something they got for free?

they charge you so you dont have all the trouble in finding the info.
if it is all gotten for free and that easy, than do the research yourself.

Google only gets you so far. And Wikipedia is only if the person is popular or famous. Ancestry.com is your best bet IF the person has been dead for a long time. If not, try Classmates or similar sites.

Or... Do the job yourself, like most other do. Read church books, ask your family, read more church books...

read more church books...

Church Books? How would that help.

And Ancestry is the best.

And Graham is also right. Google is your friend.

Church Books? How would that help.

Since (at least here in Denmark) the child's name along with the parents' name is written in it. If you know the name of your greatgrandfather, but lack more information, finding the right churchbook will help you on from there.

That's the same everywhere in the world, I think. Most people seek information about their ancestors in the church books. You can't expect to find everything online.
