Random idea, what if a user has to complete a quota of AP for his/her first week. Just a small amount, but it might spark that user to actually use his/her name. Just an idea...

as of right now there are around 257,270 users with 10AP or lower

when 200,000 hit there were 163,897 users with 10AP or lower

We'd prefer it even more if you simply ignored it, a bit like this:

However we are aware that some users are both intentionally and unintentionally encouraging disruptive behaviour on these forums. We are currently holding discussions with Dan regarding more definitive solutions.
