Hello Everybody. It's nice to have the old format back, isn't it? And such lovely weather were having this week. Summertime in Spring. I have two questions. 1. Suppose I wanted to review all the posts of a single player, myself say, haha, I'm not vain am I? How would I do that if my .sol file no longer has those games saved but they are spread across the many pages of the community forum? 2. I know how many of you enjoy making the fantastic circus flips and sticking the landings, etc. I have never seen a castle setup where the lever acting on the flip was initiated by a toss from the trebuche, e.g., stone or bomb lands on the castle lever flipping the character (your choice) for a perfect stuck landing, preferrably on a higher level or into and destroying the castle. Why don't we experiment with that for a bit? My apologies if it has already been done. Cheers -chupie
The king landed in the hole dead centre and fell over...
@chupie - I am working on the one you suggested with the bomb to launch something to land on a launch pad and set someone off. The biggest difficulty in working with this is finding the sweet spot for the the flip and as well, the element.
I did this next one a few months back but finally got it to work. Throw a large stone at the base of the roof and find the sweet spot!
@CJ For me, King always dies in Swing the Hammer. But the hammer is easy to start in motion and always hits the lever. rock flip is more what I had in mind but very simple. We can expand on that. I'll be expecting something exciting and will work on one myself.
@chupie - I will await your prototype just to see what you are thinking. Swing the Hammer took a long time to develop as there were so many variables. All was done in the editor - not off screen because it was so complicated. When I saw the King land on his face in the same spot 3 or 4 times, then, I made some adjustments and got lucky (5 or 6 times so far...).
The Princess stone flip was a bit easier but if you put anyone in the tower, it won't work!
It is a challenge to make these types of stunts consistent enough to be enjoyable and I am surprised that Falgorr has not beat them :P!
Something for a challenge and I am sure that Charlesme will get involved as he is a master at flipping elements as well as castlenovice.
You talked about the nice spring weather - we are in the midst of a spring blizzard right now....
movin' on up @CJ, This is incomplete but I think it has potential. The princess lands on the high tower, or goes head first over it or head first into the side, while the queen does a back flip onto the short tower. So far they both die. Do you want to try improving it? Or maybe use this as inspiration for a new circus act.
