Just wondering what you think. Remember tell why if we need Colony 2 or not.

true? no no. that's just the features that SHOULD (not WOULD) be in it. and that's just my opinion.

Remember the topic: DO WE NEED A COLONY 2? that's just my answer to this question.

here are the features I think we should have in colony 2:

- Government choice button should turn into four buttons allowing you to choose immediately.
- In the new game creation page, 6 choices should be visible AT ONCE. so that you can choose faster with mouse (for example by clicking on one of them or at least from a drop-down menu). this is much faster.
- in the waiting page before the game, your name should be displayed in Red, blue, yellow, green color.
- player names should be visible during the game, so that we can call "sam" instead of "hey, you, green, opponent, what's his face, ..."
- commands will be in this order, which is more logical (for example fall back is in the right side now. but when you click it everyone goes towards the left side. and advance is the left side order. but when u click it everyone goes towards the right side):
1. fall back
2. stay
3. advance
4. charge
but for the two players in the right side of the screen commands will be in the opposite order and icons will be left to right.
- multiplayer menu will be blue (instead of dark yellow)
- a visible friend list

Bugs:
- your rank wont reset anymore with any little login problem. like:
- login as guest
- when your brother logs in with a different account
- when you get disconnected
- In doubt features:

- a new snow ground instead of this grass one
- CPU should understand game type (won't make scouts in earthquake)

Two tabs should be present: Game tab and chat tab (- is an existing feature. + is a new feature)

1. Game tab. which includes
- your stats
+ experience visible in terms of percent (like 58%). when u reach 100% you will rank up.
- games able to be played
+ game type should be visible in front of the game name (--, EQ, DF, SS, CW, LT. and game name will turn red(eq), yellow(dogfight), green(safe skies), blue(cold war) or purple(low tech).
+ all games being played with their name. and spectator mode here.
+ game creation page should come into this tab. so that we can see the names of existing tables and not choose a name already in use
+ we should be able to choose which type of players can play: guests, accounts or both.
+ we should be able to mute or avoid spectators
+ we should be able to chat here. (like lobby) but the chat window and font size should be smaller.

2. chat tab (other chat rooms)
* inactive for guests. so that we can talk without worrying someone that has an account and has logged in as guest will hear us)
- list of all players in the chat room
- friend list
------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the more difficult (but really tempting) features:
- premium account
- tournoment
- 1 vs 1 match (gives one third experience)
- a simple turn based, map based campaign like the one in Tainted kingom
- a new Protoss like specie with turret and melee fighters with high armor and charge ability.

Sorry for double post but, i have some suggestions to colony. And i want you guys to see if they're decent.

Well, since Krin made this a tribute to starcraft, you say add self defence structures. It will add diversity to the governments. Very much like starcraft. I will also include a description of the structures and a little backstory why it fits each government.

Capitalist-- Cost: 40 Dollars 20 Manpower 20 Energy. Due to the fact that capitalist main ideal is to gain money, they can afford the most expensive technology to aid in their victory. This self defence structure is very much like the cannon in starcraft. It can attack air and ground units. It has a medium firerate and can be upgraded 3 times (Each upgrade increases damage).

Fascist-- Cost: 25 Dollars 20 Manpower 35 Energy. Fascists rely on speed of unit production and structure construction. (Very much like the Zerg race in starcraft) They can create ground attacking self defence structures or only anti air attacking structures. The ground structure (sunken) has fast fire rate and will injure most infantry to half life. Can be upgraded 3 times (Each upgrade increases damage)

The anti-air structure can only attack air units and has a splash radius. It will destroy scouts in 2 hits. Can be upgraded 3 times (Each upgrade increases damage).

Communist-- Cost: 35 Manpower 20 Dollars 10 Energy. Seeing that men are willing to sacrifice their lives on the battlefield, most infantry will shelter themselves with a barricade structure (like terran in starcraft, the bunker). This structure is not exactly self defence. You must load units into the structure and the units will do the same damage as they orginally do. You can load six ground infantry units into the bunker. Only ground infantry units can access the bunker. Can be upgraded 3 times (Upgrading gives more space to the bunker, increases by 2 for each upgrade). Gladiators take 2 times the space for a bunker.

Some additional notes

Capitalist and Fascist self defence structures cannot be destroyed to enemy fire and can be salvaged for 50% of the cost spent on the structure. Communist on the other hand, can be destroyed under enemy fire. It can be destroyed but you will not gain 50% of the cost. Self defence structures, like units, have their own range. They will react on the position you put them on ground zero. So it's best advised that you put them in the front ground zero towards the opponent. Bunkers have slightly more life than hover tanks and have Structure armor, which all damage besides Anti-Chronite damage (such as snipers and hover tanks) deals 50% less damage. Anti-Chronite damage deals 100% damage. Missiles will damage the bunker before ever damaging the central base.

Other Suggestions

I suggest a double click feature like starcraft when you double click on 1 unit it will select all that kind of unit just like in stsarcraft. (it's a strain to select an army of a specific unit in a jumble of other units.)
As a response to my bunker self defence structure idea, there should be an engineer that can repair bunkers when their out on the battlefield (they cannot repair if they're inside the bunker but you can still load them). They also repair 2x more than a medic does to mechanical ground units. Engineers cost 9 manpower and 2 energy to make.
We should also add additional hotkeys for the game. (Just like starcraft, the first letter of the structure/unit name. Also check if this conflicts with the patch for the hotkey glitch).

What do you guys think? Feedback will be appreciated.

P.S. Sorry if this is too much work for you Krin, just trying to put my thoughts and try to make the game more enjoyable.

well in my opinon if krin made a colony 2 i hope there would be differn't governments and there would be all new units and the old units would be tooken out and there would be new buildings and some of the old one's could stay like the special operations and the hospital and bank.Also the base could be upgraded three times like the first upgrade would give u turrent's the second would make it more stronger with enhanched weaponry the third upgrade would let u build special units

Your ideas are interesting armandaneshjoo, but don't forget that Colony isn't taken place on Earth, and we don't know if that planet has seasons.

Governments shouldn't cost anything since it's like a class in Colony. If it were to have prices then everyone will buy all the governments no matter what (I might not fully understand your thing. Sorry for the miscommunication.)

The additional feature about the governments salavaging stuff is too confusing for me.

Colony already has the double click feature..........

I don't think the hotkeys should be changed.

Don't forget that Colony (or Colony 2, if made) isn't the following games:

Sea of Fire, Sea of Fire 2, MasterMind (Or whatever. I forgot the full name. Lol.), StarCraft (Haven't played this.) or StarCraft 2 (Haven't played this either).

Colony should stay original, and should not have some EXACT features that other games have.
