how many teams are in the canadian football league, if there is one?

Are you being sarcastic? I think you might be but I can't tell. If you are that's not very nice =P

There are 8 at the moment. A 9th has been taken in and out as it has had limited success. And after the 9th has success, the plans are made for a 10th team. The Canadian Football League expanded into America at one time. Baltimore is the only American city to ever win a Grey Cup (CFL Championship)

The reason football players where padding is to prevent broken shoulders and sternums. That's where all of the padding is located.
Try slamming into a 250 pound, 6'5" dude at full force without padding.
Rugby players aren't so big, so they don't need such padding. And they don't slam into each other with such tremendous force. It hurts WITH padding often times.
American Football for me. But guess what, I'm American :P
And Bux, you spelled pussies wrong *cough*.
HaHaHa, Thanks TSL3_needed but thats the way we spell it in ENGLAND.*Wonders if i'm the only one who does or is it my poor spelling*.

Rugby players break bones all the time.

Try slamming into a 250 pound, 6'5" dude at full force without padding.

Try playing professional rugby.

Rugby players aren't so big, so they don't need such padding. And they don't slam into each other with such tremendous force. It hurts WITH padding often times.

Seriously? Most forwards, especially those in the back row are easily as large as American football players. Plus, they don't wear pads, and so can run faster than rugby players, hitting each other with greater force.

Well if you want to know why american football is the best sport in the world. Its because its 100% american, screw baseball its a south american sport, and basketball is chinese for the most part, but unlike every other sport in the world, american football is made by americans, played by americans, and made for americans. If american football gos to england,or mexico, hell even canada it will become boreing and un-watchable to like 50-75% of americans.see how poor what the rest of the world calls "football"and how much americans think it sucks?

Actually hits are harder in American football.

More complexity in American Football.

And I personally like plays, not people running around the whole time.

So I'm saying I like American Football better, but I do like rugby too. Rugby is basically what backyard football is, and that is a lot of fun.

And can't we all agree that both are better than soccer?

American Football is more exciting in rugby you just run around get hit and kick the ball. In football you have desinged plays and rugby is exactly like backyard football as Bronze said

Wow... kind of racist don't you think. So you say, if Canadians play it, it will become boring and uninteresting? That is pretty narrow-minded.

see how poor what the rest of the world calls "football"and how much americans think it sucks?

Not all americans think it sucks... I'm not american but I'm 100% sure of that. You should be more open-minded to other things. Not everyone shares your view... in my opinion, I HATE the NFL.

Us ENGLISH dont really give a sh*t about american football but i cant speak for everyone beacuse some probably do,to me its just a sh*t version of RUGBY.
What you call soccer and we call football was invented in ENGLAND 100's of years ago by kicking a pigs bladder from town to town and in the 1800's the FA wrote the rules for it.*Just a bit of quick info there*.

I totally agree with you SHAYNEIIthere is probably alot of people who follow FOOTBALL or soccer in america, and vica versa. In my opinion i also dont like the NFL.

i don't enjoy the NFL because of what it has become over the years, but the NCAA (college american football) is absolutely fucking orgasmic.

as a whole, i love the game of american football. it is amazingly fun to play, as we made it completely different from rugby. there's much more tactics in american football.

I agree completely with German, the only reason I watch the NFL is to watch my favorite college players.

College Football also has many schemes and plays you would never seen used in the NFL and the feeling of tradition that comes with college football just makes it so much better than anything the NFL has.

Rugby players are just as big. I play rugby and I'm 6 foot 4.

There are no rules on hitting less hard in rugby. We would hit just as hard as you would in american football. We don't wear so much padding because we have different rules. You do because you throw yourselves at the player when you tackle. We have to be able to get up again because rugby is a much faster game.
