It's very short, so I would only advise buying it if you either A)plan on playing multiplayer a lot, or B)Are a huge Halo fan.
I liked it a lot, despite the length. It's the same general gameplay as the other Halo games, but they changed up the visuals and the HUD. I also personally think it has a stronger emphasis on story, which definitely gave me a more enjoyable experience.
If you went on the internet and actually looked up some blogs or reviews (especially ones made by Microsoft) you would've found out that...
1. Halo ODST is you playing as an UNSC ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) also known as (Hell Jumpers if you read the Halo novel series) instead of the usual Master Cheif or the Arbiter.
2. One of the games newest features is "Fire Fight" which is like "Horde" on Gears of War if you ever played that.
3. Halo ODST features a few new weapons but not much.
4. Halo ODST was released to the public on 9/22/09 or September/22/09 (but im guessing you all alredy knew that).
5. Due to the economy problems in the United States Microsoft raised the original price of Halo ODST from $49.99 to $59.99 so they'd make more money from of each purchase.
6. From Halo 1 to Halo 2 to Halo 3 each new Halo they made only made them even more money and more fans however when they released Halo Wars Halo fans were shocked and angered at the gameplay and said it was all a waste of money so Microsoft had to do something to regain all their fans back so they actually stated that they borrowed the feature "Horde" from Gears of War and made a new addition to Halos gameplay and called it "Fire Fight".
7. Within the first 24 hours of Halo ODST's release they regained roughly 32.8% of their original fans that were angered by Halo Wars. Within the first 48 hours Microsoft had nearly regained 60% of their loyal Halo fans.
8. Microsoft has stated that they are in the beta stage of designing the next new Halo one that they hope won't anger their beloved fans like Halo Wars did.
9. Alredy only after the first couple of days of Halo ODST's release it's alredy been marked as one of the top 10 best games of the year.
Wow I'm really sorry about this it seems like instead of telling you to buy or not buy it I actually gave you an entire report on Halo ODST so far...
My advice from what I wrote this entire thing on (even though only #'s 1 through 3 and i guess #9 (would in a way sorta fit in with #'s 1 through 3) were about the games new features I still think that you should support Microsoft and buy Halo ODST.
Granted, it shouldn't be priced that way, but it still is a very solid game. The Firefight mode took everything I love from Gears 2 Horde and made it MUCH easier. The skulls do make a good twist though, and I love the Grunt Birthday Party skull.
I would say that Halo ODST will be worth buying. Given that the campaign is very short (3-4 hours) and that there are not that many new features that weren't there in Halo 3. Although there are a few new things such as a couple new weapons ODST really excels on the upgrades for weapons. The pistol has a scope and the SMG has a silencer. I would say that if you are going to play multiplayer more then single player or campaign buy it.
No, you cant. The maps on odst are the old maps, exept the mythic ones, and they do not have the scoped, silenced smg or the scoped, silenced magnum. hope that clears it up for you, doofus.

Yeah, that was my post, and I was told that by a friend. There is a scope for the pistol, I know that 100% as for the other things that was what my friend told me.
