The NHL season begins...

Name your team, where they might finish in the standing, talk about team or league wide stories. Wether you want intelligent discussion or merely to talk trash, if it's about the NHL. Do it here

I am a HUGE Canucks fan. My heart predicts a Stanley Cup but my mind says they lose in the Western Conference Finals. Best goaltender in the league, Selke trophy nominee, best player from the KHL last year, Defenseman with the same points as Jay Bouwmeester for less $, One of the deeper defences in the NHL, Underpayed forwards.

A recipef or success. I predict Ovechkin for the most points and goals. San Jose for the Presiden't Trophy but not to get past the Western Conference Final. Detroit will be poor, Anaheim will do surprisingly well...

LA Kings to surprise in the West.

I CANT WAIT for Canucks home opener!!!!

So what's your team?

Pittsburg Penguins is my favourite team(not because of Crosby). I think they will be in the 3 or 4 seed for the playoffs.

Did you see their game against Toronto last night?

Toronto ttly got whooped XD

Quebec City is under talks with NHL to bring the Nordiques back. Apparently the only requirement is a new arena which could be announced in the next couple of weeks

An expansion team isn't really a good idea at the moment. They need to get some of the flopping teams stable before they expand any further.

Although I did hear something about Houston

Well Quebec City is a bit more of a proven market than others that are being though of =P

And I doubt they would want a relocated franchise. I think expansion is a fine option atm, at long as you only expand into proven markets.

Northern America, Southern Canada.

I think a team in North Dakota would do well...

Maybe expansion is a good idea, more revenuse sharing for the poorer markets

Not really. That entire area has very small amounts of people. The entire northern US has very little amounts of people.

There are only 641,481 people in the entire state.

There's 4x that population in Houston, TX alone.
