Now, listen.
You all know that celebrities are featured everywhere. In the news, on TV, etc. And many of you probably know that some magazines will make things up about the celebrities, take things out of context, or dramatize something simple, just to get more people to read the paper.
Now, I've realized that not only can this be offensive to said celebrities, but it can also affect their personal life or career. Simply put, it would suck.
The First Amendment of the American Constitution states freedom of speech and freedom of the press. But where is the line between slander and freedom of speech and the press?
I mean, the people have a right to know what's going on. But there is a difference between that and tabloids making up false rumors just to sell.
What do you people think?

I like Noam Chomsky's opinion on Slander. He has never sued anyone for insulting him, calling him names, or slandering his name. He believes in freedom of speech so much, that he won't try to censure anyone, or make a profit off of slander.

look at what you said!

"magazines" "take" "celebrities" "life"

It's true! you said so!

i don't like it at all because some things are acceptable in certain situations. i don't want to censor anything, i just generally lose respect to those who do that.
