I didn't know they were diffrent .... but I have the newest vista on my computer. Its really great and I really love it its so easy to use. And I have so many cool things that came along wit it 2 like a pic vid maker
OK DarkLegendd there are currently two types of Windows out there before Windows 7.
Windows XP was made about 7-8 years ago and is still used by a lot of people today.
Windows Vista is the newest version before Windows 7 and while it has some advantages it had some issues with it and still does. Windows 7 is supposed to fix many of these issues. Does this make any sense to you?
Now out of the two I actually like Vista. I will admit its not perfect, but it has some features that make it nicer to use then XP. The main issues I have found are updates without warning that will restart your computer and shut everything your doing down. This is rare though annoying, then there are some small compatibility issues. While this was worse in the beginning I have found maybe one or two programs I can't use on Vista because of it still. Advantages are typically small things like the search option, Windows Aura(a nice visual effect), more easily knowing how well games will work on your PC, the sidebar, a more organized control panel, and a couple of other things. As far as I see the pros outweigh the cons for the most part, but others would disagree.
it could be good, it could be terrible.
Sorry but terrible is Windows ME, I don't think Windows 7 will be terrible no matter what happens, mediocre in comparison to the hype...maybe, but not terrible.
So there both the same realy? this thread should realy be names windows xp vs windows vista? and i can understand it now, you answered alot of questions that needed to be answered, thanks for that
I use vista now, and while it works OK, it needed some serious improvements. I've seen a 7 beta, and it seems great.
Compared to XP, though I would prefer Vista because It just looks and performs nicer than XP (in most ways)

are they 32-bit applications? Vista claims to be able to run 32-bit programs on the 64-bit system, but sometimes you have to manually move stuff around to get it to run correctly. Not fun.
