I'm creating a contest based on one's ability to write a short story on a specific topic. The winning submission will be judged by me, and the winner will recieve recognition from whoever reads his or her submission, and recieve comments.

-The story must be able to be judged in twenty minutes or less, and related to the topic provided.

-No vulgar comments are allowed, but light, constructive criticism is.

-Participation is not neccisary, commenting and reading is definitely an option.

-The deadline for valid submissions is October 31st.

-The topic will be provided in another comment, following this one.

That doesn't appeal to me so much. Here I am trying to START a story by prewriting the introduction, and judging the numerous ends to the tale.

Your suggestion is appreciated, but this is not a direct copy of THAT contest.

Now, after that brief interruption, I will continue. The goal is to create your own character, male or female, (ages 15 to 21) and give them whatever traits you desire. The setting will be described more thoughrally be me below, as with the beginning of the plot. All three are to be developed, on which you want to place importance is up to you; as well as the type of narration/POV. There's no need to copy the starter, it will be designed as a 'rologue' of sorts. Have fun, and may the best author win!

So, what? You need character sheets? Or do I wait for your prologue?

You wait about thirty seconds for the prologue, I was typing it.

Prologue

There is a place that has no known name outside its immense walls, where people are sent to make of it what they will. The reason why? No one truly knows. In fact, few know of its existance at all, but for a handful of people who seem to share all of the world's power, those who control every politician's every move, and do so in a way that man could not know that this was true.
The place is an island, roughly one hundred miles square, but in the shape of a circle. The climate is hot, and not so humid as the tropics of Earth. Deserts even exist near some of its borders.
This island, as stated, has a wall encasing it completely, and is otherworldly in proportion. The wall extends so high that only a helicopter would be able to cross over it at the device's top altitude. The thickness is over three hundred meters at its thinnest. The true perplexion surrounding the possibility of this is that the wall seems hewn of solid granite.
Why humans are randomly placed within these walls given only a knife, food for one day, and a note advising the impossibility of escape is unknown to all but these humans that control every man of power but each other.
Amongst themselves, they admit it to be the planet's largest-scale social experiment. The people chosen to participate: random. They are taken in their sleep, drugged, and placed on the island having no instruction.
And such is the way of the island.

------------------------------------------------------------

That is the prologue; continue on with the story from here. There's no need to copy and paste this, readers will assume that this will be the beginning to every story, as well as I as I judge.

Good Luck!!!

Oh, I forgot, your character has to have been dropped on the island with no backstory. I forgot to mention! Just have him or her wake up next to the wall, in a small desert area to start, and you can give as much of the character's memories of their life as you, the author, please.
