Hmmmmm . . . there was one time, today actually, when we were doing a powerpoint presenting a business.
This one was a bar called MJBs.
The guys on it literally described every aspect of their business as bossy. Seriously. Also, I asked him about the angry girl who was the background for all the slides. He said 'Oh, she's the bossy chick who I get off on every time I look at 'er'
They also went on the warpath against a dentistry place, lol.
Also, one time, a group of about 10 people went around, asking everyone in the hall if they were going to have sex before marriage. They shouted the question, to try and make it sink in.

OK so yeah then they were doing it just to be stupid most likely since most people I know didn't get into politics and start strongly expressing their beliefs till High School. Probably doesn't compare to the "High-Five for Jesus" meme that was created in my Middle School back in the day, but still kind of pointless.
However if you look at the whole world, and include underdeveloped countries, humanity in general is decreasing in intelligence.

Since the industrial age, more and more people have had access to higher levels of education. I see no reason why the worldwide level of intelligencewould be dropping. That's also disregarding the fact that 'intelligence' is extremely difficult to quantify, and so any study on as large a scale as this would be inherently flawed.
I believe that is true, there are more people participating in after school activities and there are more people going to college than there were in the 60s and 70s I'd assume. However, I would love to see an online source from the OP confirming this theory even exists.
I wouldn't say America (or any other country) is getting dumber. Most likely, the gap between the intelligent kids and the ignorant ones are growing wider daily. Its rather obvious where i live

It is true we know more about our world now. But this topic is about IQ, which is more a measure of common sense than it is a measure of overall knowledge.
The reason as a world our IQ is decreasing is because in developed countries that have good education systems it costs a lot more to support a child. Children are drains on their parents in developed society. There is also a lot more practice os safe sex.
In underdeveloped countries, there is little practice of safe sex. They have poop education systems if any. And producing a child is less of a drain than it is in developed countries. In fact it is better to have as many children as possible in poor country as it is more likely one will become successful and be able to support you. Even if this is not true it is widely believed.
So the poorly educated areas of the world have a much higher fertility rate than well educated areas of the world.
More children who won't be properly educated being born than ones who will = decrease in world's intelligence
