hey all, hey all. first of all, apologies for not being on for such a long time. went on vacation all summer with NO COMPUTER. i nearly went mad.
ANY-hoo, halloween is coming up! oct 31 just looms ahead. due to the fact that i'm going to be busy (with school sooner or later), i'm planning ahead. I NEED SOME COSTUME IDEAS. please. i really want to dress up this year (even though im too old to go trick or treating). so i'm asking you guys to help me think. give me your ideas. i'm up for anything. almost.
most of you know i'm a girl, and literally every other female in my school is dressing up to be a witch, so not a witch. vampires are usually slutty. so anything that is decent, not too hard to make or buy, or not time consuming to put on. i don't mind dressing up as a male character, but ppl might get confused cause i have really long hair.
so please, throw at me some ideas. who knows, maybe some other ppl on this site could use them too =)
Yeah, but she said she want's something simple, and doesn't take awhile to put on... and all those anal beads have GOT to be hard to put on. *ba dum pish!*
How about dressing up as a Ringwraith from the lord of the rings? I read you're a girl, but it's easy to conceal in such a costume and at least you'll get a few good stares from everyone.
Oh, and it's really NOT THAT HARD to do... Here's a few links on how to make yourself a costume (NOTE: These vids are not mine) Part one Part two
Now the gloves are another thing, but when I made them I used kitchen/labwork gloves (you know the plastic gloves that are stretchy and stick around your hand?), and made small triangles out of cardboard (the cardboard cilinder inside your toilet paper roll works great, as it already curves). Then just paint it grey... For a sword I used a wooden sword I made myself (doesn't really look like a real sword but then you don't want to get tackled by the cops, do you?)
Legatus88: that's a pretty cool idea! the entire military thing looks sharp. all those layers look kinda heavy though...
SoulHack117: aww... thanks YOU so much. lol wow, you sure have a lot of pictures. Thanks so much for all your ideas and picture examples. they certainly are... attractive, but I'm thinking more of scary than sexy. good point about the beads though.
hitmanvp95: where'd you find this??? is that a goth princess or something? lol, I don't think i'll be able to roll my eyes back like that
Zaichik: i am SUCH a huge LOTR fan. that's a great idea. *wraith like shriek*
Seems like you've got some ideas. Here are a few more! Pirates are always fun! I dunno how girly you are, but last year I went as a 50s girl with the poodle skirt (though a slightly less appropriate one). It was very cute! This year I am going to be prisoner; I'm pumped! Hopefully I can convince my roommates or boyfriend to be a cop...then they can chase me around campus! Ha ha!
I like homemade costumes the best. I was a cookie a couple years ago; I made the costume myself. Some can be pretty easy to make and really cheap. I go for comical over scary though, ever since my brother went as Freddy Krueger when I was young. Scared me shitless for a couple weeks, but when I got over it I just didn't find scary costumes that amusing.
dress up as a jahova witness (hoxever you spell it...) no one will want to open the door. or a sex offender, carry around a piece of paper that is asking them to sign it if its ok for you to live in heir neighborhood and everything (dont bother saying its fake).........Im considering this one, itll be funny to see peoples reactions
I was supposed to make a mini-haunted house for a fundraiser in Band (the haunted house consists of rooms put together in downtown mall). My group couldn't think of anything so we decided to make the room really pitch black, and put a table with a lit candle in the back of the room. Then we'd come pop out when people reached the end of the room, of course we'd make "scary" sounds while they walked. The sad thing is, the haunted house was CANCELLED because the Fire Marshall didn't think it'd be safe.
Well, I'm going to make a robot suit out of a bunch of 12 back Mountain Dew boxes and other assorted items. I'm making a big gauntlet thing that I put on my left arm, and I'm trying to rig it so I can control the fingers from the inside. Other than that, it'll mostly be cardboard boxes, sheet metal, and a truck load of spray paint :P
But, robots might not be your style, so maybe you could go as... Hm. I dunno. My awesome-idea-o-meter is on empty from my costume :P
Oh! You could buy a lab coat, and formal clothes, stain the lab coat red in places, rip it up a bit, and carry around some fake doctor tools.
