guitar hero was the first to create the whole guitar franchise then Rock band bought out Guitar hero, its all depends on what game you feel best fits you, i personally like guitar hero better because i don't like the feel of Rock Band. And sense guitar hero world tour came out i can jam like i'm playing rock band but the feel of guitar hero.
i just plain dislike rockband's whole layout. can't feel which note on guitar, hammer-ons barely work, squares? really? from commercials graphics are horrible compared to gh. guitar hero is for people who like being able to play songs. rockband = frustrating.

Rock band is better than guitar hero cuz in guiter hero you can only play guitar and bass but in rock band you can have your own band and play every instrument.
