Top I would have to say is Sephiroth because he is just plain awesome, followed by Cloud because he was by far the best main character in any Final Fantasy game, then I would have to say Seifer & Auron come in at third with Gilgamesh at number 4, if as 5had0w said, he is counted.
Lulu. I loved her sarcasm and she's the prettiest female char at FF! Second place: Vincent. And Yuffie was also great. I liked the conformer + morph combo.
i have only played final fantasy 6-10 when i was in 4th grade (when i played 10 i played the other few when i was early elementary) excluding the few ff roms i played on gba so i dont know most of the characters but i do like cloud/vivi/leon..and the guy u play as in part 10 i forgot the name i mostly like them for their looks rather then personality
