There is a failing power grid in the US.If we don't put effort into fixing it, we could have a disaster.I definitely think we should fix it, the only reason why people don't want to is because of the cost, let the debate begin!
The thing most people don't realize about the national debt is that it is the combined debt of both the government and the american people, not just the government. 7 trillion of that is not my problem but someone elses. If only we could sell off our national forests once more to get rid of the national debt the one time they actually took care of it under Marshall.
the dept is because of the economy crisis. Here in israel we're going back to the direction of normal. It is hapeening in the U.S. also, right? So the dept is going down, right?
This would be the first time I've ever heard of the US power grid failing. I've know it's been having "hiccups" if you will in recent years but didn't know it was that "bad." As far as it costing so much to fix is no surprise. However the way I see it paying for the cost of fixing it at this point is a small drop of water in gallon sized bucket. The US has been in debt since it's inception and will most likely always be in debt so might as well pay for it. Yeah it could possibly hurt the dollar, but then again the dollar is already suffering...

This is not at all true. As I said earlier it was under US president Marshall when the national debt was entirely paid off by the selling of federal land.
