Personally, I have a ZHD. And believe me, I scrutinized both before picking. BUT, the Zune fit what I need in a pmp more than the iTouch. Plus, I despise iTunes. Zune software is, by far, superior. And both the Zune and its software are immensely more aesthetically pleasing than iPod/iTunes.
For roughly $15 a month, users can have unlimited access to all of the Zune Marketplace's extensive music collection, and can download as much as they want so long as they keep their Zune Pass. Unfortunately, the catch is that users only have permanent ownership of 10 personally selected songs a month and as soon as your Zune Pass expires, all of the other Zune Marketplace-downloaded tracks are rendered inoperable.
FAIL.
How is zune software superior? Itunes works on macs, while zune does not. And itunes has homesharing and all those random goodies.
And there basically the same thing in terms of tech...Except the screen on ipod touches are more advance. And ipod's have bluetooth aand phone capabilities.
Look I love my ipod touch, but one thing I do have in favor of other companies is that the ipods tend to break so easily! I got a Creavtive mp3 player like 6 years ago. All it does is play music, but it hasn't broken and still works great. It was build to last and serves it's purpose well. I bought the touch for the apps, but for a music player... I'd say something like Creative software (that doesn't care about who owns the music on your machine) is far superior!
iPod touch! It's slimmer, more portable, bigger screen, no passes/expirations, and it costs less! iPod touch is a better device with better technology.
Except the screen on ipod touches are more advance.
Realy? The ZuneHD has an OLED screen. iTouch just has a regular LCD screen. The ZuneHD can render true black(as in, no light emanating from those areas of the screen), and colors look gorgeous on it. The ZuneHD's screen is by far superior.
From IGN:
True, but does Apple offer anything comparable? No. And the point of a Zune pass isn't to have it for a month or two, but for continued use. And just because Zune isn't available on a mac doesn't make is inferior.
Also, Windows 7 > Snow Leopard.
Here's a nice comparison chart. (The no's are because the Zune came out less than a month ago, and therefore automatically has less apps/such available foe it)
Yeah, but the ZHD was released less than a month ago. In theory, it actually is a better platform for apps (superior processor and screen). The catch, however, is Microsoft. It reamians to be seen how they combat this. Weather they open the Zune to 3rd party developers, or even just the WinMobile app store.
