First impressions are bold when it comes to anything. Whenever my brother sees me playing an old SNES or playstation game he assumes its bad because of the graphics. Anybody disagree with him???
Graphics have nothing to do with games to me. Of course, I've played since Atari, back when graphics weren't anything to look forward to anyway. I still play lots of older NES and SNES games.
Ugh. Graphics have NOTHING TO DO with how a game is bad or not. I play old N64, and PS2 games most of the time. My friends, who have an X-Box 360, are so spoiled with their eye candy that they won't appreciate how good those games are. Would you rather play a game with "amazing" graphics, but with horrible gameplay, or a game with decent graphics and AWESOME gameplay?

I disagree 100%. Graphics do not make the game. As everyone has clearly said, graphics simply make a first impression. I don't know about you all, but I would rather sit in front of Turok for 64 than sit in front of Halo 1, 2, three billion.
I agree that graphics make a good impression. Plus they also help you get into the feel, the mood, or the setting of the game, BUT the game play is where the big meaty chunk of the game is. That is my opinion.
i prefer better gameplay and interface but graphics do help a little
Agree with you here. I think graphics makes the first impression of a game. Its just like when you see a girl, if she looks good, you her, in first place! If she looks bad, you dont want her, in first place!
achievements arent needed for a great game. everyone knows that.
Correct, but achievements deffiently makes games more interesting. Personally, i wouldnt have played "Toss the turtle" for such a long time, if it wasnt for the achievements
This forum actually relates to a lot of problems which games are currently having. currently a lot of game companys are substituting good gameplay for good graphics. (Not that they really need to anyway.)
