Pffft. The humans disrespect the gods. What do you expect? And without the gods, there would be no humans. Besides, it's nowhere near the worst punishments. Poor Actaeon was torn asunder by his own hounds...Heracles was driven mad and murdered his own family...the list goes on and on.
A million years is but a second to a god. Let me put it this way. You have a younger brother whose name just so happens to be Zeus. After he frees you from your father(who ate you) him, you, and your other brother(a.k.a. Hades) draw straws to see who gets what. Your brother gets the best deal, you get second best, and poor Hades is stuck with the worst. And now, you have to take orders from your little brother for all eternity. I think you'd be pretty pissy too.
