So who heard about the white house declaring war on fox news? Basically, most news stations ( ABC,NBC,CBS) are fair and unbiased to democrats, and unfair and biased to the Republicans. Fox, however is considered biased to the democrats and fair to the republicans. personally, I would say most stations are biased to the left, and fox is slightly biased to the left. thoughts? (keep it peaceful)

Not me. But then again, AG is my primary news source XD

Obviously. I've always said such.

Most stations are heavily biased, Fox, not so much.

But free speech needs to be destroyed for all heavily biased news stations, and even light ones. They brainwash the public and destroy each other in brawls of insults and general being d*cks.

Fox is the most retarded news corporation besides the Onion.

Fox is biased, but it shouldn't be declared war against . . . they still have freedom of speech, they just like one side better than the other.

All news corporation support some political ideology/party and persons, the most effective thing the person who wants to be informed properly and to know the truth is to learn about the same things from various sources which support different ideas.

is this the beginning of government controlled media? is there going to be some sort of official white house news channel to counter fox? (some may argue that NBC CBS ABC MSNBC CNN already perform that function)

It not the end of free speech... the federal government can declare war on Fox all they want, it's like they're going to shut Fox down or anything. And even if they did, it wouldn't be the end of free speech, not in the slightest.

The white house communications director called Fox News an unreliable news source, and they've been exchanging a war of words for a few months. That's it. There's no restriction of free speech happening.

I hate fox news, but if we forced them to be quiet, we would volitate the bill of rights.

Did you even bother to watch any of them? Is an ad hominem and appeal to the majority the bet you can come up with?

It depends on the circumstances under which Fox is forced to quit airing certain shows. If the national government gives no reason as to why the shows are not suitable for TV, then Fox could sue the it for unconstitutionally restricting their freedom of speech. However, if the government stops a show while citing one of the five circumstances under which freedom of speech can be restricted (if it incites imminent lawless action, contains "fighting words", defamation, obscene material, or anything that is a threat to national security), the argument would not be "why has the government intervened?" but instead, "did it really incite imminent lawless action?" . My point being, if the government stopped the show without citing a right that they have to restrict free speech, it could start a slippery slope of censorship. Which could in turn lead to very restricted speech.

As I was trying o point out with the links Fox is notorious for skewing the fact or even flat out lie. Now I'm not saying other news stations don't do this and I think it just as wrong for others as it is for Fox, but how much can a channel do this before it can no longer be called news reporting?
