For those of you not living under a rock, you're aware that the GTA series s famous for starting some of the biggest controversies over video games. While the original 2 entries in the series were able to escape with a "T" rating, the rest have been labeled "M". With the addition of new modes such as "Drunk Driving", and the lack of an official rating from the ESRB, there is some talk that GTA IV will recieve a "AO" rating.
right i have been playing violent games since the ps1 when i was about 8 years old and since then i have not got one slight urge to go out on a rampage and kill everyone in eyesight. And i have no intention of doing in the near future. The game industry is just something that's easy to put blame on.
I wish games didn't have to get toned down in oder to get that M rating. I personally have never experienced an AO rated game, but seeing as how the M games my parents allow don't quite appease my taste in full out gore and blood, I think I would like them. And in this age of new graphics and more realistic games, the blood and gore should come with the realism, don't you think? Watching little sprites lunge at each other like in the good old days of SNES is going to cut it anymore. I also think the parents need to be smart enought to go do research on games they are buying for thier kids and make sure they approve of it. You would buy a crib for your newborn child without making sure its safe. Games arn't much different
Whatever the rating is, I'll be able to buy it. So, I don't care whther it's AO or M. If it's gonna end up being AO, they should go all out. They know they want to put nudity in their games, and they should also add more killing!!
GTA IV would be more violent if it involved blasting peoples heads off with a shotgun. But the head just stays on the body so I don't think it is too violent.
