First, before you all go and join, let me make one thing clear. This is not going to be like regular RPGs. It is going to be very in-depth, complex, and difficult, and you will not be given options, but instead given a scenario in literal story form. You will then choose your actions and write them in story form(it could possibly be compared to the Way of Moderation, but that comparison is rather ungainly, seeing as to how I decide exactly what happens to you, you just write what you do), but be careful. Those who play the Mystery Game must be cautious. If you die, you're dead and you can't comment on the thread anymore. I recommend that everyone who decides to participate has a fair modicum of intelligence; otherwise you would likely be lost and confused, thus not having any fun in the Mystery Game. A wealthy politician named Chad Forbes has disappeared mysteriously. But that's not news; he's been missing for a decade without a trace. Long ago, the police declared him dead and gave up on the search. So it comes to a shock to you all when you're told to go to a mysterious mansion in the middle of nowhere, with the explanation that this will be a memorial for Mr. Forbes. But when the people arrive, they realize that everyone there had some sort of connection to Forbes; whether it is that they were friends, family, rivals, or even detectives who worked on the case. The next thing you know, locks and bars are secured on every possible exit out of the house by some sort of mechanism...or an unseen malicious observer. An intercom message (possibly prerecorded, but perhaps live as well) then blares throughout the house. "Welcome to the Mystery Game, ladies and gentlemen. As you may have noticed, you are all locked into the house and may not leave. That is, until one of you win the Mystery Game. The winner will not only allow his or her fellow gamers trapped in the house to retain their lives and go free, they will win all the belongings of our gracious host; Mr. Chad Forbes. The goal of the Mystery Game is to solve the mystery surrounding the late Mr. Forbes' death using clues concealed both within this very house and in your opponents. But beware; nothing is what it may seem! With that said, I bid you good night and good luck." Then the speaker stops abruptly. Now it's your turn. I urge you to make your character sheet as in-depth as possible, as it will make things much easier for me.

This must also include, in vivid detail, your relation to Mr. Forbes, whatever it may be. Let your imagination abound. Skills: Whatever you are good at. Please, PLEASE, no Mary Sues. With no family he knew and loved, at the age of thirteen he ran away to make a name for himself. Three years on the streets does things to people. One night he decided to stop going for peaty theft and robbery and went for the big man. Mr. Forbes office it contained a priceless vase that was worth a lot on the market. Well things didn't turn out as planed. He was caught by a security guard and put in prison. He was looking at 20 years in jail. The next day Mr. Forbes disappears and "Mouse" is brought in for questioning. After a long trial he is, oddly enough, sent free. He was still on the streets after that. Between the ten years bad things happened to him. One night he got stabbed while trying to steal a wallet from a drugy. He went into the hospital with a nasty gash in the side and came out with a redheaded nurse named Jessica. The both lived together for about a week. Everything was going good for "Mouse" then the call hit them both. She was being employed to a wealthy politician in France. It devastated him so much that that night he left without saying goodbye to her the only woman he loved, the only relationship he had (Because he had no mother he did not know how to treat a woman, and most of the time he yells at them when on his nerve). After she left he became so depressed that he decided to kill the "ain" with drugs. The only reason he went cold turkey was he didn't have enough money to keep up with his addiction. A few years later he gets a card, it tells him to go to a mansion. In his mind he thought "well it looks like my job isn't done yet". Skills: Sneaking, Relative good knowledge of fine art, Lock-picking and deceiving. Weaknesses: Mainly afraid of heights but is dirty and smells bad so people stay away from him. Items: None

His father worked on the original Forbes case, but found no evidence and never found his killer. Other than that, he had no direct connections with Forbes. "Dear Caleb, Welcome to Mr. Forbes' Mystery Game. I understand you are a contestant? Good luck; you'll need it. But not even the best luck in the world will sustain you in this game, so I have decided to help you and the other contestants by giving you each three clues. Each clue will be different, and very difficult. Rather than helping you in the mystery of Mr. Forbes' disappearance itself, your clues will help you survive the house and its many traps and tricks(which it does have.) If you can solve the riddle of the clues themselves, it will likely help you survive and speed your passage through this accursed household. So, given from me, are your clues three. 1. Stars with an eye, are never to be trusted when they're on the right. 2. One is small and one is tall; one is dark and one is light; one is left and one is right. But which shall you choose? Tread lightly, I hope you brought good shoes! One leads to wisdom; one traps you within. To make the wrong choice is dumb, but how can you win? 3. There's always a pattern; always a rhyme, from your shoes to Saturn, everywhere, everytime, from the floor to the door. These patterns are never without reason. I hope these clues successfully make it to you...and I hope you didn't dare try to open a clue that wasn't yours! They will undoubtedly help you in your quest to solve the disappearance of Chad Forbes, but don't let them confuse you too much.
