I just was wondering if AG is ever going to recruit more mods. Honestly, there's been quite a lot of crap going on here and either not enough mods available or just not enough mods to deal with it. It would seem like a good idea to recruit more mods in the form of users who spend hours here every day. But that's just my thinking.

What do you guys think? And what does a mod think about this?

Of course it would be great if there were tons of users who were mod material. But sadly, this is reality. The mods and staff will choose people who they think meet the criteria, not choose people out of a sense of desperation, or because users believe there need to be more of them. A sensible policy.

(Responding to the OP): Well moderators have been inactive lately. Strop is busy. Carlie is busy. Zophia is busy. and the other minor moderators seem to be inactive...

Exactly. Why not make Cenere a moderator? He's on all the time.

The simple fact is older members and people would make the best mods but it also means that they are the people with the least amount of time to dedicate to the site. The simple fact is they need more mods. The pool of mods they have right now cannot cover all of AG 24/7. But it takes time to find a trustworthy mod because a bad or a clumsy mod could do more damage than an army of trolls.

We at least need the mods to take shifts once in a while. Nnine has spammed the crap out of this community, and he hacked my profile. I'm BigP08.

You need to change your password more regularly and make it more than 8 digits long

This site will give you information on how long it takes to hack your password so you can make yourself safe accordingly.

If you read the Terms and Conditions Myaccounthasbeenhack you would know what to do. Secondly I haven't go thoroughly through the terms and conditions but guessing a password is not illegal even hacking a password is not illegal but stealing an account is.

Or how about this, everyone just grow a pair until the mods get back. Is the minor (it is minor, people are over dramatic) spamming ruining your life that much?

Thaaaaank you.

Stop contradicting yourself. This makes no sense whatsoever. That's like saying pirating software is legal, but stealing software is illegal.

As for the OP:

The constant whining for an increase in mods does nothing. There is a long process involved in appointing mods, you can't just give moderator powers to someone you think would be a good choice. You have to go through logs, comments, and all kinds of other stuff. Just be patient.

More mods would really help in this community. Many trolls and spammers are getting in that gap where no mods are online. The forums become a mess.

So AG should recruit some mods, but in their own time.

Shut up and let the mods do their thing. Or I will literally rip your heads off if I ever find you.

Lol...what I saw that night wasn't minor...but that is besides the point.

New mods will get picked when new mods get picked. We can only wait and help them by flagging and not spamming ourselves. And then also to just ignore the people that spam, because if they don't get a reaction then they don't win.

And Klaus...can I help?

Maybe... but we will need to work on your head ripping technique, this isn't just willy nilly heads flying everywhere! Precise work!

Uhm, I disagree: There are loads of people who are mod material, it's just that yes, the mods and admins are very, very picky (Or selective if you want to call it). I think another factor is how long you've been on the site: Good users are always popping up, but they go just as fast. Or they have long inactivity gaps.

Strop is busy. Carlie is busy. Zophia is busy. and the other minor moderators seem to be inactive...

For mods, you have to understand that: They have after all, normal lives too. But admins work at AG, and Carlie is always busy with the site. She may just not be writing much in the Forums much, but you can bet she's 'lurking here' locking bad threads and deleting obscene posts.

There is a long process involved in appointing mods, you can't just give moderator powers to someone you think would be a good choice.

Yes, the process of time is necessary: The longer a user stays, the more you can find out about his true colors. Someone an be nice for a minute and then spam the next one. Some good users have done rubbish in the past, and we all thought they were AG's best of the best.

More mods would really help in this community.

I thought most of the mods worked in the community. Those are the ones most active and people know of. I mean, ever see something from Iroot (Okay, once) or Dan? Most new users don't even know they're there.

If there were tons of users who were 'mod material' they would probably be mods by now. You have to bear in mind that 'mod material' is determined by the mods and admins themselves. Saying that they are 'icky' or 'selective' demonstrates that they have higher standards for 'mod material' than you think, probably explaining the seemingly small number of mods.

Carlie is always busy with the site

Just so you know, Carlie doesn't work for AG (although she might get some money...but would probably just get added to John's salary), and she is studying Marine Biology and Manatee thingies.

If there are any more mods, I think they should be Zega or Klaushouse.
