I got 50 wpm with only 1 mistake. I'm taking a typing class right now.

That typing test isn't so great because you could just type in one word from the passage and it'll give you a speed of something below 10 with no mistakes. So, if you're going to take it, take it fairly.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. I think I know why. It's because when you're typing a forum post it's already coming from your head, but when you have to type something else by looking at it, you don't have it in your head so it takes a longer time to type it.

Yeah, that's right, and that's why one has to take these tests with a grain of salt.

That said, most of these tests are relevant to applications for secretarial jobs, which have a high amount of dictation in them, so it's more useful for that.

I found that when I typed just one word or a handful of words, I always had one mistake, and the only way for me to actually have no mistakes was to take the test in its entirety.

21 wpm with three mistakes.... but despite my slooooow speed at typing I found the text to be quite inspirational and I will bookmark the site.

75 WPM, with 2 errors.

Well I seemed to be able to type 44 wpm, thats actually a lot faster than I had though I typed, and all of two mistakes. Course it's not like Im going to go and start working as a court reporter or anything...
