The original Medival is my favorite. Empire reminds me too much of Civillization and I hate how they made the armies move starting in Rome and going onward from there.

Rome is my favorite. It has several expansions and mods with new interesting campaigns and corrected historical inaccuracy.
I even remember playing one with Chinese faction.
